Job Title: Electro Mechanical Engineering Technician
Duration: 7+ Months
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Duties:
This Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for applying engineering methods and procedures to perform tasks essential to the production of life science instruments.
This individual will provide tactical floor support to our in-house manufacturing lines and will perform activities that are semi-routine in nature.
He or she will improve product quality, eliminate line failures, assist engineers develop new manufacturing processes.
This individual will receive general instructions on routine work activities and detailed instructions on new assignments.
Responsibilities:
Build, test, troubleshoot subassemblies or finished products using layouts, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.
Identify issues/failures/defects during manufacturing, and either resolves or elevates in a timely manner to engineering staff.
Assist engineers develop and implement BOMs and assembly/test procedures.
Dispositions defective product.
Perform rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
Perform root cause analysis on subassembly and finished product level electro/mechanical failures.
Create and maintain neat, legible, complete notebook records and data sheets of all tests.
Assist in the building, testing and maintenance of new and existing test stations used on our in-house manufacturing line and by our external contract manufacturers & suppliers.
Skills
Strong attention to detail and able to work well under pressure in order to meet production deadlines.
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Able to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with minimal routine supervision.
Strong working knowledge of electronics. Ability to read and analyze electronic schematics and troubleshoot system failures.
Demonstrated ability of being able to read, understand and precisely follow assembly procedures and in-process electro-mechanical test procedures and use associated fixtures/test systems to support in-house manufacturing lines.
Strong attention to detail and reproducibility of operations and product
Must be well organized, dependable and self motivated.
Must be able to resolve complex problems.
5+ years of experience in ISO engineering & manufacturing environment.
Ability to use common electrical test equipment such as Digital Multi-Meters and Oscilloscopes
Proven track record of providing proactive support to existing products and new product initiatives.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Education
AS degree in technical field required. BS degree in engineering preferred.
