Job Title: Logistics Analyst II
Job Type: Contract (4-6+Months)
Location : Framingham, MA
Duties: Provide technical expertise in the assessment and recommendation of temperature controlled transportation solutions used for Global Distribution of Genzyme GMP products. The position is within the Project Management function of Supply Chain Operations.
• Work together with Logistics and Distribution sites to introduce & implement robust shipping systems
• Work with cross functional teams to develop science based methodologies and technical justifications
• Develop user requirements documents as required, design & route qualification, ambient temperature profile analysis, development of & associated protocols and reports for design development and qualification phases
• Manage Testing supplier activities & schedule, as required
• Understand Thermal Modeling presented by suppliers & be able to apply based on Risk
• Define work-plans, timelines and deliverables and monitor project status including status reporting & manage issue resolution and escalation & ensure delivery of project targets for logistics improvement project
• Work with cross functional teams to develop statistically and scientifically sound methods supported by processes like FMEA for process improvement
• Participate in the development of global operating procedures for Thermal Shipping Systems
• Develop and maintain databases for shipping system qualifications
Skills:
Project Management skills/experience leading cross functional teams. Ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities, including line management responsibilities with assigned project work.
Will have analytical and quantitative skills and must have a proven ability to translate data into decisions.
Cross-functional knowledge: Uses knowledge of functional areas, organizational structure, and key business drivers to support company initiatives and long-term growth strategies, understanding individual and functional impact on the whole organization
Knowledge of GDP and GMP requirements for storage and transport pharmaceutical products.
Experience with computational heat transfer thermal modeling required.
Experience with temperature controlled managed products. Knowledge of ISTA & ASTM testing programs a plus.
Experience in material handling, material warehousing and distribution.
Working knowledge of the design and testing of active and passive shipping systems. Experience with computational heat transfer modeling a plus.
Ability to work independently and in a matrix environment.
Working knowledge of freight transportation carrier selection and transportation regulations (domestic and global) with experience in cold chain shipping, validated shipping containers/systems, and import / export processes / documentation.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Prior Biopharmaceutical experience preferred
Education: • Greater than 6 years’ experience in Temperature Controlled Supply Chain Management.
• BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
