Job Title : Proofreader
Location : Lake forest, IL
Duration: 12 months contract (will go longer)
- Develop compliant change control of documentation and labeling including new and revised policies, procedures, specifications and global labeling artwork, outside contract and third party manufactured product.
- Compare draft artwork against redlined artwork and indicate inconsistencies.
- Accurately and efficiently proofread labeling artwork as well as a wide variety of other documentation such as specifications, templates, drawings, chemical formulas, structured product labeling, MS Word enclosures etc.
- Identify the draft artwork with all incorrect spelling, punctuation, dimensions, geometry, all aspects of bar coding, copy direction, copy placement, copy layout, formatting, and spacing as compared to the change request, red lined artwork, drawings, template and specifications.
- Assist the Graphic Arts Studio with the proofreading of drawing templates a visual diagram of a die drawing for dimensional accuracy.
- Operate electronic bar code verification system.
- Create Word enclosures for FDA submission
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor s Degree in English, Journalism, or similar, or equivalent experience
preferred.
- Minimum of one year of proofreading experience, in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ensure strict deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Must be able to identify all differences between pieces being proofread.
- Accuracy and detail are essential.
- Manage multiple assignments.
- Monitor and communicate work status changes to editors and/or manager.
- Analyze drawings for proper application to artwork.
- Ensure proper good documentation practices and audit trail processes are followed.
- Creativity and innovation are encouraged to improve department and proofreading processes.
- Ensure draft artwork has been identified with all inconsistencies for proper editor evaluation.
- Inaccurate labeling can delay product approval and launch or cause product quality issues in the field, potentially resulting in field actions and/or recalls.
